Who we are and how we started. Wayanad Hills Farmer Producer Company is a farmer-owned business — the 440 farmers who grow for us are also the shareholders who own it.
Empowering Farmers Since 2021
Wayanad Hills Farmer Producer Company Limited is a farmer-owned company: the farmers who grow for us are also the shareholders who own it. It was set up in 2021 in the Sultan Bathery Block of Wayanad district under a Government of India scheme to create 10,000 such farmer companies (called FPOs), supported by the Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC).
As the company enters its fifth year of operation, having successfully overcome its initial teething troubles, we are moving forward on a path of steady growth. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our 440 shareholder farmers for their constant support and cooperation.
Registered Office: Sultan Bathery, building opposite the Wilton Hotel.

About the company
If farmer producer companies are new to you, start here.
What is a farmer producer company?
It is a registered company owned by the farmers who supply it. Instead of selling to a trader who takes the margin, the growers hold the shares, so the profit comes back to them. The Government of India promotes these under a scheme to create 10,000 such companies, known as FPOs.
Who owns WHFPCL?
Our 440 shareholder farmers. They are the growers and the owners at the same time. The company is led by a board drawn from those members, chaired by Sunil Kumar M.R.
When and where was it set up?
In 2021, in the Sultan Bathery Block of Wayanad district, Kerala. Our registered office is at Sultan Bathery, in the building opposite the Wilton Hotel. We are supported by the Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC).
How do I become a member?
If you farm in the Wayanad region, contact us and we will explain the share requirement and the paperwork. Members own part of the company and share in its profits. Our agri services are separate — those are open to any farmer for a charge, member or not.
I am not a farmer. Can I still work with you?
Yes. Buyers, retailers, hotels, processors and exporters can order from our product range. Investors and partners can see what our AvocadoFest and Investors Meet achieved, including our MoU with CSIR-CFTRI.
